Produced in collaboration with Audacy, One Handshake Away is a seven-part limited-run series that delves into captivating conversations with contemporary filmmaking legends including the director of Barbie, Greta Gerwig, the legendary Quentin Tarantino, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Breaking Bad’s Rian Johnson.
Each sat down with the legendary Peter Bogdanovich to pay homage to a filmmaking master who has inspired them, offering insight and perspective on the influence and impact the legends who came before them had on their career and filmmaking in general.
These conversations are framed around a bounty of never-before-heard archival interviews that Peter conducted with auteurs who inspired him, such as Alfred Hitchcock, Orson Welles, John Ford, Howard Hawks, and Don Siegel. It's been an incredible journey to bring together the timeless wisdom of these legendary filmmakers and the contemporary brilliance of today's leading directors.
This project holds special significance as one of Peter's final endeavours before his tragic passing, with award-winning director Guillermo del Toro and producer Louise Stratten stepping in to ensure its completion. Each episode offers an intimate glimpse into the profound influence of cinema's greatest pioneers on the filmmakers of today, bridging the past and present in a way only someone with the longevity of Peter Bogdanovich could.
